We (not three kobolds stacked inside a trenchcoat but rather an actual human person) were detained by a Spirit of Voyage as we made our way on the surface, in search for more relics to add to our ever-increasing hoard.
As the spirit blinked and shimmered uncertainly, we stood upon the edge of the walk-space awaiting the granting of passage.
Across the endless river of metal chariots, another surface-dweller approached – a familiar one.
This was another resident of our warren, his lair numbered 2C, across from our own 2B. We knew little about him, although we’ve heard him call out his own name often as he offered wares to passers-by – Fast Vik. His speed was unknown to us.
Fast Vik sprinted across the river, dodging between the oncoming chariots with deftness and skill, clutching a bulging sack surely heavy with relics. In pursuit came another – an accuser, fists clenched, shouting obscenities, waving a pouch with the sigil we’ve come to recognize as “Fucci”.
The Spirit of Voyage has not yet granted us passage and so we remained as we were, observing the approaching duo from afar.
Fast Vik veered close, avoiding collision by some innate talent or perhaps by the blessing in his “Adibas” footwear. But the accuser, blind with rage, charged forward – and fate intervened.
As Klik’s tail momentarily slipped from beneath our trenchcoat of concealment, the accuser’s foot found it.
He stumbled.
He fell.
The result was a jarring crash, as the accuser tumbled and collided not with us, but with the unseen boundaries of the Spirit of Voyage itself. Its light finally shifted, granting passage, and we crossed the river of metal as was our due.
As we stepped over the fallen, the Fucci pouch, untethered in the confusion, slid and tumbled, vanishing into an open drain at our feet — a sacrifice to the depths, an offering to the Spirit of Voyage.
From across the river, now certainly-Fast Vik observed our passage and made a gesture we’ve come to identify as gratitude. He then vanished down his own path.
While we do not yet understand the surface rituals fully, it is abundantly clear – the Spirit of Voyage has measured the accuser and found them wanting.

Klik: 5/5 — (Made a solemn hand gesture as the Fucci pouch vanished into the drain.)
